KAN-therm Push adapter

KAN-therm Push adapter

A KAN-therm Push adapter joins a Push pipe to a threaded component or to a pipe of another diameter, without welding and without O-rings on the pipe stub. One end is a profiled spigot for the expanded end of a PE-Xc or PE-RT pipe; the other is a male or female pipe thread, or a second spigot. The pipe side is sealed by a sliding sleeve pressed up to the stop. Size and thread type decide whether the joint meets a manifold, valve or meter without extra parts.

Main adapter types

Several constructions are common in this product group.

A male-thread adapter is used when the pipe enters a coupling, manifold or valve with a female thread. The body often has a collar: it stops the sleeve and gives a wrench grip.

A female-thread adapter does the reverse job — it accepts a component with a male thread. A cylindrical G thread should not be paired with a non-system conical R thread unless the manufacturer’s guidance allows it.

A reducing connector changes pipe diameter inside the system, for example from 25×3.5 to 18×2.5 or from 18×2.5 to 14×2. Both ends are made with a sliding sleeve, so the joint is not intended to be taken apart.

A eurocone adapter is a separate, demountable transition: a cone stub with an O-ring for a manifold outlet. It can be opened again if the pipe is not pulled off the stub.

Materials and construction

Bodies are made of brass or PPSU polyphenylsulfone. A brass adapter is chosen where the thread must take a wrench on an accessible joint. A PPSU fitting is lighter and does not corrode in a heating or underfloor circuit, but the press inserts must match the polymer body and the tool must grip the collar, not the thread.

The sliding sleeve is supplied separately or with the body. A brass sleeve is asymmetric: the chamfer must face the specified way, and it is used with PE-Xc and PE-RT pipe. A PVDF sleeve is symmetric; it also suits these pipes and, in Push Platinum, multilayer pipe. There is no extra seal on the spigot: the profile of the stub seals the joint once the sleeve is slid home.

Where the adapter is used

The transition is used in apartment cold and hot water riser branches, radiator heating and underfloor heating loops. Typical points are a manifold outlet, a ball valve, a meter, a strainer, a mixing set, and a step-down from a larger main to a branch. It is not a substitute for steel fittings on process lines with aggressive media: the system is intended for internal building services.

How to select an adapter

Start with pipe outside diameter and wall thickness: 14×2, 18×2 or 18×2.5, 25×3.5, 32×4.4. Then check the second end — male or female thread, 1/2, 3/4 or 1 inch, cylindrical or conical. For a reduction, match both pipe sizes. Choose the body material by location: brass for an accessible joint, PPSU for a concealed underfloor run. The sleeve must match pipe diameter and pipe type. Price depends on material, diameter and connection type; availability and cost of a given execution should be confirmed before ordering. Temperature and pressure limits come from the product data sheet.

Why order from Pipeline Systems Ukraine

A KAN-therm Push adapter can be ordered to a stated pipe size and thread, in bulk for an installer or as a single piece. Specialists can match spigot, sleeve and threaded end so incompatible parts are not mixed. Delivery is available across Ukraine, and documents for the selected item can be prepared for a company order.

FAQ

Does the Push spigot need a sealant?
There is no O-ring on the pipe stub: the profile seals after the sleeve is slid on. Tape or hemp is not used on that end. Sealant is only for the threaded end, and only if the thread type and the connected part require it.

How does a male thread differ from a female thread?
A male thread enters a coupling, manifold or valve. A female thread accepts a male nipple or connector. Check both the inch size and the thread direction on the equipment, or an extra nipple will be needed.

Brass or PPSU for underfloor heating?
PPSU is the usual choice on a concealed run because the body does not corrode in a heating circuit. Brass is easier on an open joint that is tightened with a wrench. For PPSU in 12–25 mm, use the black press inserts marked T on the fitting side and grip the collar.

Can a female G thread be joined to a conical R thread?
The manufacturer does not allow a fitting with a female cylindrical G thread to be joined to a non-system male conical R thread. That pair does not seal predictably on the threads. Use a matching cylindrical part or a transition accepted in the system documentation.

Is the sliding sleeve included?
The sleeve is often sold separately, so the item specification should be checked. A brass sleeve is asymmetric and is for PE-Xc and PE-RT. A symmetric PVDF sleeve suits those pipes and also Push Platinum multilayer pipe. Sleeve diameter must match the pipe, not only the thread.
