KAN-therm Push threaded adapter
A KAN-therm Push threaded adapter joins PE-Xc or PE-RT pipe to a valve, manifold, radiator fitting or metal section. On the pipe side the seal is a profiled spigot with no O-ring: the expanded pipe end seats on the spigot and a sliding sleeve is pushed over the joint. These connectors are used on indoor heating, underfloor heating and hot and cold water. If the pipe size or thread does not match the fitting, the joint cannot be made.
Main types of KAN-therm Push threaded adapter
This group covers straight threaded transitions for a sliding sleeve. The pipe-side seal is the same; the thread side changes.
A male-thread adapter is used where the valve or manifold has a female pipe thread. The spigot enters the expanded pipe, the sleeve locks the joint, and the thread is sealed in the normal way for that joint. It is the usual transition to metal pipework and shut-off valves.
A female-thread adapter is chosen when the mating part has a male thread: a tap tail, nipple or manifold outlet. Check the thread form before ordering so a parallel pipe thread is not mixed with a taper thread. For a radiator tail or wall outlet, also check the wrench shoulder and access in the recess.
Materials and construction
Threaded adapters in the system are most often CW617N brass, because the thread has to take the tightening torque. PPSU in KAN-therm Push is used mainly for elbows and couplings without a thread, so brass remains the practical choice for a threaded transition.
The spigot is profiled, so no elastomer ring is fitted on the body. The pipe itself seals once the sleeve is slid on. The sleeve is a separate part, brass or PVDF. A brass sleeve is oriented with the chamfer toward the fitting; a PVDF sleeve is symmetrical. It must match the same pipe size. Temperature and pressure limits depend on the pipe application class and the fitting version and should be taken from the product data sheet.
Where a KAN-therm Push threaded adapter is used
Typical use is apartment and house heating and water distribution on Push pipe. The fitting links polyethylene pipe to an underfloor manifold, a radiator connection, a ball valve or a water meter.
On underfloor heating it makes the outlet from the manifold onto 14×2, 18×2 or 18×2.5 pipe. On a radiator run the same joint replaces a soldered transition to threaded valves. Do not apply adhesive or chemical sealant on the sliding joint. The system is for indoor installation and is not intended for outdoor mains or steam.
How to choose a KAN-therm Push threaded adapter
Start with the pipe marking: 14×2, 18×2, 18×2.5 or 25×3.5. Outside diameter and wall thickness must match both the fitting and the expander head. 18×2 and 18×2.5 pipe are not interchangeable.
Then set the thread: male or female, G½, G¾ or G1. Order a sliding sleeve of the same size if it is not included. Price depends on size, thread and batch, so pipe, sleeves and adapters are best ordered together.
Why order from Piping Systems of Ukraine
Piping Systems of Ukraine matches the KAN-therm Push adapter to the pipe and the thread on site. Staff check diameter, thread type and whether a sleeve is required before dispatch. We supply installers, designers and purchasing teams, wholesale and retail. Delivery across Ukraine; availability and price are confirmed on request, and documents for a specific item can be provided.
Popular sizes
- 14×2 — manifold outlets and short underfloor branches
- 18×2 — heating and water runs on the thinner-wall pipe
- 18×2.5 — common transition to radiator valves and manifolds
- 25×3.5 — supply runs before branches to appliances
- G½, G¾, G1 — male or female, matched to the connection
Send a request to confirm stock and price of the required KAN-therm Push adapter. We will check pipe size, thread and sleeve set.
FAQ
How is this adapter different from a Push coupling? A coupling joins two system pipes. The adapter has one spigot for the sliding sleeve and a threaded end for a valve, manifold or metal fitting. A coupling does not make the thread transition.
Does the spigot need an O-ring? No. The profile is designed so the pipe seals after the sleeve is slid on. No elastomer ring is fitted on the body. Sealant belongs only on the thread, and only by the method intended for that threaded joint.
Can an 18×2 fitting go on 18×2.5 pipe? No. Only the outside diameter matches. Wall thickness differs, so the bore and the expander head change. Adapter, sleeve and tool insert must follow the pipe marking.
Are brass and PVDF sleeves interchangeable? Both work with a Push fitting of the same diameter, but they are fitted differently. The brass sleeve is asymmetric: the chamfer faces the fitting. The PVDF sleeve is symmetric and needs no orientation. Diameters must not be mixed.
What should be checked before ordering? Pipe marking, male or female thread, G½, G¾ or G1, and whether the sleeve is included. Installation needs an expander and a press insert for that size. Stock and price for Kyiv and delivery across Ukraine are confirmed on request.
