KAN-therm Push tool

KAN-therm Push tools

KAN-therm Push tools are used to make KAN-therm Push joints: the PE-Xc or PE-RT pipe end is expanded, pushed onto the fitting and secured with a sliding sleeve, with no O-rings. The working range is 12–32 mm. Installers use the set on heating and water-supply jobs and on repairs of existing networks. Joint tightness depends on matching the expander head, inserts and fitting type, so the kit is selected for the actual connection scheme, not for “polyethylene in general”.

Main types of KAN-therm Push tools

A chain-drive manual press is intended for spot work. Force is transferred through the chain to the jaws, which slide the tension sleeve up to the fitting flange. It is the practical choice when there are few joints and no power on site.

A foot-operated hydraulic press takes the load off the hands: the pedal builds pressure and the cylinder drives the sleeve home. It suits floor distribution and plant rooms where dozens of joints are made in a shift.

Battery-powered KAN-therm Push tools, including sets based on Novopress presses, speed up both expansion and sleeve assembly. They pay off on large sites and for crews that install every day. The expander — manual or battery — is supplied with interchangeable heads.

A case kit usually combines PE-Xc and PE-RT pipe cutters, an expander, heads, a press, inserts for sleeves and PPSU fittings, and expander lubricant. Jaws for 12–18 and 25–32, plus spare heads and inserts, are added when the site diameter range changes.

Tool construction and execution

Expander heads are segmented and marked for the pipe size: 12×2, 14×2, 18×2, 18×2.5, 25×3.5 and 32×4.4. Colour coding reduces the risk of mixing diameters on site. One set of inserts works with a brass or PVDF sliding sleeve and a brass fitting; another holds a PPSU body by the flange only. Shaped inserts are not used with the chain-drive manual press. Lubricant cuts friction on the segments and keeps the head serviceable. The press body may be mechanical, hydraulic or battery-powered — the choice follows the volume of work.

Where Push assembly tools are used

Push assembly tools for heating and water supply are used on risers, floor distribution, underfloor-heating manifolds, boiler-room pipework and hot and cold water lines. The same joint method is used with Push Platinum fittings on multilayer pipes in a compatible range. This equipment does not replace a radial press tool: the sleeve is drawn axially after the pipe end has been expanded.

How to choose KAN-therm Push tools

Start with the diameter range. Repair work on 12–18 mm is covered by a manual press and the matching jaws. If the specification includes 25 and 32 mm, or many identical joints, a foot-operated hydraulic press or a battery set is more practical. Brass and PPSU need different inserts: a polymer body must not be clamped like metal. The head must match both diameter and wall thickness — 18×2 and 18×2.5 are separate items. For a battery press, check the charger, a spare battery and the seating of the inserts. Price depends on the drive type and on whether a full 12–32 kit is required or only tooling for one size.

Why order from Pipeline Systems Ukraine

Pipeline Systems Ukraine can supply KAN-therm Push assembly tools for the job volume: a manual, hydraulic or battery kit, plus heads, inserts and cutters. Tooling is checked against pipe diameters and fitting type before dispatch. We work with installation companies and individual fitters, ship wholesale and retail, and deliver across Ukraine. Availability and price of a specific item are confirmed on request.

Popular sizes

  • expander heads 12×2, 14×2, 18×2, 18×2.5, 25×3.5, 32×4.4
  • press jaws 12–18 and 25–32
  • tool kit for the 12–32 mm range
  • inserts for sliding sleeves (brass, PVDF) and for PPSU fittings
  • cutters for PE-Xc and PE-RT pipes

Send a request to confirm availability and price of the required kit. We will match heads and inserts to your diameters and assemble the order for the site.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about KAN-therm Push tools

Can a Push joint be made with a standard radial press tool? No. In the Push system the sleeve is drawn along the pipe axis after the end is expanded, not crimped radially. An original expander, a head for the exact size and a sliding-sleeve press are required. Tooling from other systems should not be substituted by a “similar” diameter.

How does a chain-drive manual press differ from a foot-operated hydraulic press? The manual press transfers force through a chain and suits spot repairs with no power supply. The foot-operated hydraulic press works from a pedal and is less tiring on a run of joints. Crews installing daily on large sites usually choose a battery kit.

Why are separate inserts needed for PPSU and brass fittings? A brass fitting and the sliding sleeve are held by one set of inserts; a PPSU body is held by another, on the flange only. Polymer must not be clamped like metal, or the fitting will deform. Shaped inserts are not used with the chain-drive manual press.

How should the pipe be expanded, and why is the fitting fitted at once? Cut the pipe square, place the sleeve on first, and expand the end with the head for that size, turning the tool between cycles. PE-Xc and PE-RT have a shape memory, so the fitting is pushed on immediately after expansion and the sleeve is drawn to the flange. Lubricate the head segments before use.

Does a Push kit also cover Push Platinum pipes? Push fittings are also used with Push Platinum multilayer pipes in a compatible range, typically 14–32 mm. The head and inserts must match the actual pipe size, not only the system name. Check the tooling against the kit instructions and the fitting type before assembly.
