KAN-therm Push crossover fitting

KAN-therm Push crossover fittings

A KAN-therm Push crossover is a sliding-sleeve fitting that carries one pipe over another at a crossing without a sharp rise in the screed. It is used in underfloor heating loops, radiator tails and domestic water distribution where PE-Xc or PE-RT pipes meet in one plane. Without a purpose-made bridge, the floor build-up increases or the pipe is bent with a risk of kinking. The correct size keeps the bore clear and avoids extra joints on a run that will be covered.

Main types of KAN-therm Push crossovers

Two constructions cover this group. A crossover tee combines a branch and a bridge: one port runs straight, one branches off, and the third lifts the pipe over the neighbouring line. It fits near a manifold or on a radiator connection where the crossing and the branch coincide. A plain pipe crossover is an arched fitting with no branch. It is chosen where two pipes only cross. Both use the Push joint: the pipe end is expanded, pushed onto a spigot with no O-ring, and locked by a sliding sleeve. A factory crossover replaces a hand-formed loop that unnecessarily raises the floor.

Materials and construction

Bodies are PPSU or brass. Polyphenylsulfone does not corrode in heating or tap water, is lighter than metal and holds its shape in screed. Brass, often nickel-plated, is used where the node needs stiffness or a transition to a threaded system part. Sealing comes from the spigot profile and the sleeve — brass or PVDF — not from an elastomer ring. The joint can stay in the floor without service if it is assembled fully home and square to the tool.

Where crossovers are used

A KAN-therm Push pipe crossover is placed in underfloor heating so loops do not stack and thicken the screed. In radiator heating it separates flow and return in a chase or floor. In apartment water distribution it clears crossings of PE-Xc and PE-RT lines with an EVOH barrier. The group is not for industrial process lines: it belongs to indoor systems, mainly 12–32 mm.

How to select a crossover

Match outside diameter and wall thickness first: 14×2, 18×2 or 18×2.5. A fitting for 18×2 does not replace one for 18×2.5 — the spigot differs. Then decide whether a crossover tee or a plain crossing is needed. PPSU suits screed; brass suits nodes next to threads. The sleeve must belong to the compatible Push series. Price follows diameter, body material and whether the part is a single crossover or a tee. Temperature and pressure limits come from the pipe and fitting data sheet, not from a blanket figure for the category.

Why order from Piping Systems of Ukraine

Piping Systems of Ukraine can supply a KAN-therm Push crossover for the actual pipe size and align sleeves with the neighbouring Push fittings. Staff check the size before dispatch so 18×2 and 18×2.5 are not mixed. The company works with installers, designers and private buyers, wholesale and retail. Availability and price are confirmed on request, with delivery across Ukraine. Documents for a specific item can be requested with the batch.

FAQ

How does a crossover tee differ from a plain pipe crossover? A crossover tee both branches and carries one pipe over another. A plain crossover only lifts the pipe at the crossing and has no third port. If there is no branch at that point, an extra tee in the screed is unnecessary.

Can a KAN-therm Push crossover be embedded in an underfloor screed? Yes. A Push joint is intended for concealed installation and is not serviced after the sleeve is slid on. Expand the pipe with the system tool, seat it fully and keep the press square. Pressure-test the loop before pouring.

Why can an 18×2.5 fitting not be replaced by an 18×2 part? Both pipes are 18 mm outside, but wall thickness and the expanded bore differ. Spigot and sleeve are matched to one size pair. A “similar” diameter seats loosely in a way that is not obvious by eye.

Which sleeve fits a PPSU crossover? Use a Push sliding sleeve, brass or PVDF, as specified for that joint. Match the system marking and pipe size, not merely a nominal diameter. A sleeve from another joint technology does not belong here.

What drives the price, and how is a wholesale order placed? Price changes with diameter, body material and whether the part is a single crossover or a crossover tee. Installers usually price the set with sleeves and adjacent Push fittings. Stock in Ukraine and a wholesale batch are confirmed on request; mixed 14×2 and 18×2.5 lines should be checked before dispatch.
