KAN-therm Push ring

KAN-therm Push sliding ring

A KAN-therm Push sliding ring is the sleeve that locks an expanded pipe end onto the profiled nozzle of a Push fitting. The joint seals by nozzle geometry and radial compression after the ring is slid forward, with no O-ring in the connection. It is used on PE-Xc and PE-RT pipe in heating, underfloor heating and domestic hot and cold water. A wrong size or a reversed brass sleeve leaves the joint unreliable, so the ring is matched to pipe outside diameter and wall thickness.

Main sleeve types

The Push system uses two sliding-sleeve designs.

The brass ring is asymmetric, with an internal chamfer. The chamfer faces the fitting so the sleeve seats on the expanded pipe and stops at the fitting flange. This is the standard sleeve for pipe-to-fitting joints on PE-Xc and PE-RT. Manufacturer documentation also uses the same brass ring range on Push Platinum multilayer pipe.

The PVDF ring is symmetric and does not need to be oriented. It is selected when the fitting series calls for a polymer sleeve and the matching press inserts. The sequence is the same: expand the pipe, push it onto the nozzle, then slide the ring with an axial press.

Size is a separate selection point. Common marks are 14×2, 18×2 / 18×2.5, 25×3.5 and 32×4.4. One 18 mm ring covers both 2.0 mm and 2.5 mm walls. The catalogue letter A refers to the sliding sleeve itself.

Materials and construction

CW617N brass holds the expanded pipe on the nozzle. The chamfer is functional: it decides whether the ring slides on square. Before assembly the sleeve goes onto the pipe with the chamfer toward the fitting.

PVDF is lighter and needs no orientation. It is not mixed with a brass sleeve in the same joint unless the series instructions allow it. The pipe stays polyethylene — physically cross-linked PE-Xc or PE-RT — in a five-layer build with an EVOH barrier.

The ring is not a seal. It only locks the pipe onto a PPSU or brass fitting nozzle. PTFE tape and hemp do not belong in this joint.

Where the Push sliding ring is used

The sleeve is used on indoor KAN-therm Push networks: radiator heating, underfloor heating, hot and cold water distribution, and connections to manifolds and radiator valves. Each pipe end needs its own ring, so site quantities include a margin for the number of joints. Gas and outdoor mains are outside this product group. Temperature and pressure follow the pipe type and application class in the system documentation.

How to select a Push sleeve

Start with the pipe mark. A 14×2 ring fits 14×2 pipe, 25×3.5 fits 25×3.5, 32×4.4 fits 32×4.4. For 18 mm, use the shared 18×2 / 18×2.5 sleeve. Neighbouring diameters are not interchangeable.

Then match sleeve material — brass or PVDF — to the fitting and the tool on site. Do not reverse a brass ring: the internal chamfer faces the fitting. Expand with the head for that diameter and slide with inserts for the same size. Do not slide two rings at once.

Price follows size and material: a 14×2 sleeve costs less than 32×4.4. Wholesale counts are pieces from the joint schedule, and the article number is checked before dispatch.

Why order from Piping Systems of Ukraine

Piping Systems of Ukraine matches the ring to pipe size and to Push fittings of the same system. Orders run from a few pieces for a repair to a site batch for contractors and purchasing teams. Availability and price are confirmed by article number, with delivery across Ukraine. Supporting documents for a specific item can be prepared on request.

Popular sizes

  • 12×2A — less common in the range, confirm by article
  • 14×2A — final branches and appliance connections
  • 18×2A / 18×2.5A — one sleeve for both walls
  • 25×3.5A — circuit mains
  • 32×4.4A — manifold feeds and risers

Send a request to check stock and price for the KAN-therm Push sliding ring you need. We will match the size to the pipe and kit the sleeves with the fittings.

FAQ

How does a brass ring differ from a PVDF ring? A CW617N brass sleeve is asymmetric: the internal chamfer must face the fitting. A PVDF ring is symmetric and is not oriented. Choose the material from the fitting-series instructions and the press inserts, not from what is already on the bench. Do not mix the two in one joint.

Does one 18 mm ring fit both 18×2 and 18×2.5 pipe? Yes. Push uses a shared 18×2 / 18×2.5 sliding sleeve for that diameter. It does not fit 14×2, 25×3.5 or 32×4.4: nozzle geometry and expander head are different. Check the full pipe mark before ordering, not only the outside diameter.

How should a brass sleeve be placed before sliding? Cut the pipe square, place the ring with the chamfer toward the fitting, expand the end with the matching head and push it onto the nozzle up to the last bead. Slide with the press, gripping the fitting at the flange. Do not slide two rings at the same time.

Does a Push joint need extra seals? No. The joint is designed without O-rings, PTFE tape or hemp: sealing comes from the nozzle profile after the sleeve is slid home. An added seal interferes with the pipe seat and does not replace the correct ring size. Threaded transitions outside the Push joint are sealed separately, by thread type.

Can rings be ordered in bulk, and is delivery available in Ukraine? Batch quantity is counted in pieces from the joint schedule, with a small allowance for cut-offs. Stock and price are confirmed by article and size before dispatch. Delivery is available across Ukraine, and sleeves can be kitted with fittings of the same system for a site.
